BRIGANTINE Project – Interreg Italy-Croatia

We are excited to announce that the BRIGANTINE project, in which CORILA participates as leader of WP4 “Science in action: Studies for new product application and coastal and marine monitoring systems”, officially started on April 1st!
BRIGANTINE was presented for the first time at the Venice Boat Show during the conference “Towards the ecological, energy and digital transition” promoted by Assonautica Venezia.
This innovative project aims to develop an autonomous boat for environmental monitoring in small ports, with the aim of assessing the health of seaweed and seagrass meadows.
The main results expected from the project include:
Creation of “autonomous surface vehicles” of two different sizes, equipped with sensors for monitoring water quality.
🤝 Involvement of private companies and SMEs for collaborations and joint technological developments.
🔬 Carrying out joint research activities to further innovate the technology.
🌍 Organization and participation in cross-border joint actions such as training experiences to promote the use of these technologies in environmental monitoring.
BRIGANTINE will not only contribute to improving knowledge of the distribution and health of seagrass in the Adriatic, but will also facilitate local management thanks to simpler and more efficient monitoring tools.
